Ami Sioux is a photographer currently living and working in Paris.
Born in Stockton, California, she attended the San Francisco Art Institute and graduated with a Bachelors of Fine arts in New Genres.
Moving immediately after her graduation to New York, she began to work with Mark Borthwick and Maria Cornejo at their shop Zero in New York. In 1998, on their encouragement, she began to shoot full time as a photographer and began contributing to magazines such as Paper Magazine.
In 2001, she moved to Paris and then on to Berlin, where she began shooting for magazines such as Sportswear international and Sport & Street.
After her return to Paris in 2005, she began contributing regularly to i-D magazine, Self Service, and Jalouse magazine. She's currently a regular contributor to these magazines and recently has begun shooting for Vogue UK and Madame Figaro in Paris.
Her portrait work has been shown in magazines such as T magazine: the New York Times Style magazine, TGV magazine, Another Magazine, Dazed and Confused Japan, Nylon tokyo, Paper magazine, Tank magazine, and Rendez-vous magazine.
She has just released her second book, entitled Paris 48°49N 2°29E . The first book in this series was released in 2006, entitled Reykjavik 64°08N 21°54W.
She is currently working on her next album of music and a first exhibition of her personal work which she'll be exhibiting in Spring 2010.
